I spent some time when I was a child visiting my grandparents before my siblings and I traveled to Kolkata (then Calcutta) and on to Belgaum, Maharastra in the early 1950s BUT then we returned to Shillong when I was 11 and continued school at Saint Mary's.
Hello everybody; welcome back! I was born in Dehradun, spent a few months in Shillong, and then spent my early years in Belgaum, Maharastra, India. My siblings and I moved back to Shillong in 1956; I was 11 years old. I spent my teenage years in Shillong; graduated high school, and attended Shankar Dev college., but before too long, I joined Royal Nepal Airlines to fly to many places in Nepal, India and Bangladesh. I love to travel.
I spent many years in Shillong; as a small child, as teenager and briefly as an adult. The beauty of this place is etched in my mind so whenever I miss it, I know, all I have to do is, close my eyes and picture it. So many memories come to mind especially enjoying family picnics in Cheerapunjee and Upper Shillong. We often shopped in Police Bazaar and Bara Bazaar. If you ever to travel to Shillong, you will not regret it.
